Tough questions to answer, but I'll take a stab.

When I started my own Linux journey, I was so adamant about not touching the terminal. "If I can't do it with a GUI then I'm not even interested in this distro!" I'd state defiantly.

I'd even get upset when seeing all those tutorials online that used command line instructions when there existed (in my eyes) much easier GUI approaches.

Here's what I've come to realize though: not only does it feel empowering for some reason, but it also feels uniform!

There's a certain comfort in knowing that no matter what Debian-based distribution I decide to use, installing software will always be the same command, through the same terminal window that's guaranteed to be there.

Same goes for the multitude of Arch-based systems. Etc...

It'll probably even look roughly the same.
